Boing B-17G"Flying Fortress "

In 1949 Douglas built B-17G-80-DL had been placed in Airforce stored in Pyote,Texas. Along with the B-17 now called King Bee.The studio purchased B-17 80-DL in 1960.

The B-29 Enola Gay was also stored at this field during the same time.

The aircraft was disassembled and trucked back to the 20th Century Fox Studios in Los Angeles an used in the filming of the movie "12 O'Clock High" starring Gregory Peck at the controls. It was later taken out of storage for use in the TV series of the same name. Still later used in "The Thousand Plane Raid" & "Tora Tora Tora" The below picture was taken at the Armory in Greeley, Colorado (local bar) where the aircraft was part of the decor.
